On April 15, a meeting with a delegation from the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, led by the university's rector, Tang Zhishu, was held at the Myrat Garryev State Medical University of Turkmenistan. During the meeting, the two countries discussed the current state of cooperation in healthcare and prospects for expanding medical cooperation, TDH reports.
In the morning, Tang Zhishu, rector of the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, met with leaders and representatives of Turkmenistan's healthcare system. The meeting emphasized the growing momentum of interstate cooperation in healthcare and education.
Particular emphasis was placed on the prospect of integrating China's millennia-old medical practices with Turkmenistan's natural resources and its rich medicinal flora. Collaboration in this area will open up broad horizons for actively exploring the achievements of modern medical science and best practices that have evolved over several centuries.

During the meeting, a signing ceremony was held to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between the Myrat Garryev State Medical University of Turkmenistan and the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine on the establishment of the Turkmen-Chinese Center for Traditional Chinese Medicine. This decision marked a significant step toward expanding cooperation in the field of medicine.
An exhibition dedicated to the national healthcare system, including information on medicinal plants growing in Turkmenistan and the country's recreational infrastructure were presented to the ceremony participants. Various types of medicinal teas were also on display. A special place was given to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov's multi-volume scientific encyclopedia, "Medicinal Plants of Turkmenistan."

The program of the visit by the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine delegation, led by the university's rector, Tang Zhishu, was enriched by the opening ceremony of the "Cabinet of Alternative Medicine" at the Myrat Garryev State Medical University.
The significance of the ceremony was underscored by the participation of Oguljahan Atabayeva, Vice President for Medical Affairs at the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care.
Speakers at the ceremony emphasized the multifaceted nature of bilateral relations, with cooperation in healthcare and education being a priority.

Participants were introduced to the conditions and equipment of the Cabinet, as well as materials on the main areas of alternative medicine. The celebration continued in the university's large conference hall, where it was announced that Tang Zhishu, Rector of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, would be awarded the title of Honorary Professor of the Myrat Garryev State Medical University of Turkmenistan for his efforts in strengthening inter-university ties and exchanging expertise.
