Recently, an open lesson dedicated to modern journalism, its importance in various economic spheres, and media literacy issues was held at S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University, with the active participation of students and faculty.
The event was jointly organized by the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University, the Young Entrepreneurs Center of the Ashgabat City Committee of the Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, and the Information, Consulting, and Volunteer Movement Center of the Magtymguly Youth Organization.
Young journalist Seyli Aryshov from the ORIENT website guested at the latest open lesson. In his presentation, he spoke in detail about ways to distinguish between reliable and fake news (fake news, deepfake) in the modern digital world and the development of technologies such as AI. He also touched on the correct presentation of statistical data in economic news and the explanation of various economic terms.
Today, the importance of the media is growing in all spheres. Online journalism, which is rapidly developing in the trade and economic sectors, plays a particularly important role.
As can be seen from news sources on social media, the scope of online journalism is constantly expanding and has a bright future. However, like any phenomenon, there is a downside: the ability to recognize and protect oneself from fake information on social media is becoming one of the most important challenges of our time.
The topics discussed generated great interest among the open lesson participants. The event concluded with a question-and-answer session with faculty and students.
