USAID promotes digitalization of parliamentary activities in Turkmenistan

November 1, 2023, Ashgabat, Turkmenistan – On October 24-27, Members of Parliament (MPs) participated in a digitalization seminar in Turkmenistan, hosted by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in partnership with the Parliament of Turkmenistan (the Mejlis). The seminar, facilitated by international information and communication technology experts from Estonia, Georgia, and Lithuania, introduced MPs to innovative digital technologies in the optimization of parliamentary work. A key highlight of the seminar was the discussion on the preparation of the "Action Plan on Digital Transformation of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan," which will advance an e-parliament system in Turkmenistan.

A meeting of the Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe and the heads of foreign affairs of the Central Asian states took place on Tuesday, October 31, in Ashgabat. During the meeting, which took place in the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, there was a thorough exchange of views on the most important topics of regional security, sustainable development and stability. Particular attention of the meeting participants was paid to border security, climate change and ecology, as well as transport communications.
