Turkmenistan's top leadership expressed deep sorrow and solidarity with the friendly people of the People's Republic of China over the tragic incident at an industrial facility.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent an official message of deepest condolences to President of China Xi Jinping over the numerous casualties and injuries caused by a gas explosion at a coal mine in Shanxi Province.

On behalf of the people, the Government of Turkmenistan, and himself, the head of state conveyed words of sincere sympathy and support to the families, relatives, and friends of those killed in this difficult time, and also wished a speedy recovery and rehabilitation to all those injured.

National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, also sent words of deep sympathy and support to the Chinese leader. In his message, on behalf of the highest representative body of people's power and on his own behalf, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov asked that words of sincere compassion be conveyed to all those affected by this massive tragedy, emphasizing that the news of this incident was received with deep pain in Turkmenistan. The National Leader sent words of fortitude to the families of the deceased miners and wished a speedy recovery to the wounded.
