The next round of negotiations between the heads of the oil and gas industry of Turkmenistan and high-ranking delegations of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and South Korean Hyundai Engineering Co. Ltd was held on Monday, July 29.

According to the state news agency TDH, the main subject of the meeting with the ADNOC delegation led by Senior Vice President Abdullah Al Shamsi was the project for the third stage of development of the Galkynysh field.

ADNOC has been closely cooperating with the “Turkmengas” State Concern since 2023. Today, the parties are working on the legal, commercial, investment, financial, technical and other components of the new phase of the development of the Galkynysh field, which is directly related to the promotion of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India/TAPI gas pipeline project.

Moreover, ADNOC expressed its readiness to work together with oil and gas companies from Kazakhstan. It should be noted that the Turkmen side has repeatedly expressed support for the participation of economic structures of neighboring states in the implementation of large-scale international gas projects in Turkmenistan.

At a meeting of the management of the “Turkmengas” State Concern with a delegation of Hyundai Engineering Co. Ltd headed by its Senior Vice President Jung Song Yong, the parties exchanged views on the status and prospects of work on the fourth phase of the Galkynysh field development.

According to the Framework Agreement with the “Turkmengas” State Concern, Hyundai Engineering will build a second desulphurization unit at the Galkynysh gas field in the Mary region, after another one built in 2009.
