 Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Held Meetings with Foreign Colleagues on the Sidelines of the ECO Summit

On the sidelines of the 17th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), held in Khankendi, Azerbaijan, Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a series of important bilateral meetings aimed at deepening strategic partnership and developing key regional initiatives.

The diplomatic talks focused on energy and transport-communication cooperation, confirming the role of Turkmenistan as a key player in ensuring regional stability and economic development.

During the meeting with Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov, the commitment to deepening political and diplomatic cooperation was confirmed. The prospects for cooperation in the energy sector were discussed and the strategic role of both countries as major hubs of regional and international transport corridors was emphasized.

The ways of diversifying economic ties, increasing mutual trade, and expanding contacts in the cultural, educational, scientific and social spheres were discussed.

A wide range of issues of Turkmen-Pakistani relations, as well as regional and international issues were discussed with Foreign Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Ishaq Dar.

The importance of regional projects, such as the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline and power transmission lines and fiber-optic communication along the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP) route was particularly emphasized.

Prospects for cooperation in the energy sector, in particular, in the gas industry, were discussed with UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber.

These meetings demonstrate Turkmenistan's active position in strengthening bilateral ties and promoting large-scale projects that contribute to integration and prosperity within the ECO region and beyond.
