Oriented on making people closer

The development of biotechnology has great potential for improving the economic and social well-being of countries, especially those that, like Turkmenistan, have rich natural resources. The prospects for the use of biotechnology in various sectors of the economy are associated with its potential impact on environmental friendliness and increased productivity of final products. Biotechnology is already successfully used in healthcare, agriculture and the pharmaceutical industry. It is a driver for the development of many related areas, such as the production of high-tech scientific equipment, reagents, and consumables.

This was discussed at the scientific and practical conference "Biotechnology - a promising direction", held on May 27 by the International Scientific and Technological Park of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan. The event was attended by researchers and specialists from various laboratories of the scientific and technological park, as well as scientists from the National Institute of Education of Turkmenistan and the Oguzkhan Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan. The conference was opened with an opening speech by Director of the International Scientific and Technological Park of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, Doctor of Chemical Sciences Durdymyrat Gadamov.

The head of the biotechnology laboratory of the International Scientific and Technological Park Altyn Rakhmanova devoted her speech to the importance and place of modern biotechnology in various fields of industry. In practice, biotechnology means the use of biological agents, such as cells of microorganisms, animals and plants to produce products that are useful in various areas of human life. The speakers spoke about this using specific results of their research, speaking on the topics of "The Effect of Feeding Silkworms with Leaves of Different Mulberry Varieties on the Output of Cocoons", "Technology and Importance of Obtaining Lyophilized Dry Powder from Quail Eggs", "Synthesis of Vitamin D3-Cholecalciferol from Sheep Wool Lanolin", "Study of the Antibacterial Properties of Gold and Silver Nanoparticles", "The Environmental Importance of Using Waste in the Production of New Products".

For the effective use of the potential of biotechnology in the economy of Turkmenistan, the training of future specialists familiar with this topic from school is of great importance. Doctor of Biological Sciences Sapargeldy Durdyev dedicated his speech on the topic “Teaching Schoolchildren Modern Knowledge of Biotechnology” to the importance of this aspect of biotechnology development.
