Art sold out in Ashgabat: a vernissage from young artists in a new dimension
02.06.2025 | 01:45 |The annual final exhibition of works by students of the Ashgabat art school named after Byashim Nurali was held in the hall of the Union of Artists of Turkmenistan. It was organized by director of the school Ovezgeldy Yagmyrov and a team of teachers and employees of this famous educational institution. The exhibition was conceived in a completely new format. For example, the paintings were not hung one by one, as is usually the case in museums or exhibitions, but in "multi-storey" vertical rows. A food court with pastries, sandwiches, snacks, and drinks was also arranged there.
Despite the heat outside, a pleasant coolness spread across the expanses of the exhibition hall. The organizers of the event took into account all the shortcomings of last year and installed large floor air conditioners around the entire perimeter. In one of the corners of the huge room, gifts were laid out for presentation to the most distinguished young artists. The stairs, the main entrance to the building and the walls were decorated with garlands of balloons. Many passers-by who happened to be near the exhibition hall, out of curiosity, began to enter the building and found themselves at the exhibition.
And here is your very first impression of the vernissage: so many people gathered at this event that photographers, "camera men" and journalists had to crane their necks or stand on tiptoes to take pictures of the hosts and invited guests standing at the microphone over the heads of the guests. Well, I remembered the halls of the Louvre, where paintings also hang on the walls in several tiers and where an insane number of visitors gather. But unlike the Louvre, the young authors of the pictorial "masterpieces" are quite alive and well and even devoured the cakes prepared by the organizers for the visitors with appetite.
There were so many paintings that it would take several days to view them all. Fortunately, the exhibition will last a few more days, and everyone who did not get to the opening ceremony can come later and enjoy the work of the young artists.
Long before the exhibition began, the entire space of the hall was filled with people. Famous writers, sculptors, artists, composers, musicians, singers, film and theater actors, and TV presenters gathered here. Among them were the sculptor Saragt Babayev, Chairman of the Union of Artists of Turkmenistan Charymyrat Yazmuradov, the most beloved uncle of all children in Turkmenistan and the host of a popular children's show Uncle Ashir, TV presenter Selbi Yomudova and many others.
Among the rising stars of the new generation of zoomers were, for example, Tylla Shirova, a young composer, pianist and artist, winner of the Gulbaba Prize and international competitions, as well as Batyr Sultanov, a young artist, the hero of the "sensational" story with a gift for cosmonaut Kononenko. Popular bloggers were also present that evening.
In order to somehow organize this sea of people and gather the guests around the improvised stage, the musicians of the string quartet "Dostluk" (consisting of Jennet Soltanova, Yazberdi Dzhepbarov, Myakhri Suvkhanova and Akhmet Babagulyev) began their performance early. They thundered their signature program. First, they went through the pearls of Turkmen music, then switched to famous melodies from foreign classics.
Among the vocalists at the opening of the exhibition, the master of opera singing, the conqueror of hearts, the gallant Begench Moshiev shone. He sang so fiery that a girl's round dance immediately formed around him. Everyone sang along, danced, or simply clapped to the rhythm of the music. In addition to Begench, the beautiful Jennet Soltanova also sang that evening, performing everyone's favorite compositions in different languages.
The highlight of the musicians' performance and their secret gift to the guests was the performance of new works by famous composer and journalist Aina Shirova. By the way, all the musical arrangements for this event were provided by her, as part of the international project "Crossroads of Arts", which unites not only different types of art, but also people who love and are dedicated to their work, as well as supporting talented and creative youth.
We remind readers that last year's exhibition of the Byashim Nurali School was also held with the support of the "Crossroads of Arts" project and was dedicated to portraits of Turkmen and Russian artists and celebrities. Thanks to the efforts of young talents, the project acquired an international scope and foreign workers of art, artists, musicians, composers and journalists joined it.
The opening ceremony of the exhibition was held solemnly. And many guests made a speech, congratulating the organizers of the exhibition and young artists on such a successful vernissage. It so happened that the day of the exhibition coincided with the birthday of director of the school named after Byashim Nurali - Ovezgeldy Yagmyrov. He also accepted congratulations from his students.
The vernissage was a great success and met all expectations and hopes. Visitors will long feel the aftertaste of joy, a trail of vivid impressions, a sense of satisfaction and a tremulous aura from the anticipation of the next exhibition of young Nurali artists.
