Tashkent Hosts the First Exhibition of Environmental Technologies Eco Expo Central Asia 2025
20.06.2025 | 22:45 |The first international exhibition of environmental technologies Eco Expo Central Asia 2025 in Tashkent brought together more than 30 countries. From June 19 to 21, it provides a leading platform for dialogue, exchange of best practices and promotion of "green" transformation.
Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan Nury Djumashev took part in the opening ceremony of the event among high-ranking guests.
At the event, it was noted that Eco Expo Central Asia 2025 is not just an exhibition, but a specialized platform of the new generation, where experts, companies, startups, representatives of state and international organizations meet to present the most modern and effective environmental solutions. Key issues of climate sustainability, resource conservation and the introduction of clean technologies are discussed here.
From innovations in artificial intelligence and green energy to solutions for water conservation and environmental education, the exhibition covers the entire spectrum of technologies for a sustainable future. The participating countries include France, the Republic of Korea, Tajikistan, Russia, Turkmenistan, Italy, Kazakhstan, Austria, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Qatar, China, Croatia, Singapore, the UAE, Belarus, Belgium, India, the United Kingdom, Japan, Norway, Hungary, Turkey, Georgia, Bangladesh, Egypt, Latvia and Palestine. This demonstrates the high international interest in the environmental agenda of Central Asia.
More than 20 international organizations, ministries and departments, Uzbek and foreign companies, financial institutions and donor structures presented their pavilions at the exhibition.
The program includes plenary and panel discussions with international experts, presentations of innovative projects, thematic sessions on green energy, ecotourism, sustainable cities, digital technologies and climate finance, master classes, photo exhibitions, cultural events and a startup competition. More than 35 parallel events, presentations of promising projects and signing of agreements on environmental programs are planned.
One of the events held today was dedicated to the topic "Rethinking Sustainability: Bio-salt Solutions for Climate-Resilient Central Asia". The International Center for Bio-Saline Agriculture (ICBA, UAE) was involved in its organization.
The regional approach assumes that the challenges of salinization, land degradation and climate pressure should be addressed in a coordinated manner. In this context, it is proposed to develop a regional network of halophyte seed production, launch joint trainings within the Green University, and create Invitro laboratories to study salt-tolerant crops. This will allow for joint monitoring of desertification processes, establish data exchange, and scale up technologies in the most vulnerable regions.
Key topics discussed at the workshop included the introduction of bio-salt crops and sustainable agrosystems, the use of AI and remote sensing to improve productivity in saline conditions, soil restoration, the integration of solar energy and water reuse, as well as approaches to sustainable rural communities and the financing of such projects.
The workshop brought together representatives of government agencies, international organizations, research institutions and young innovators from Central Asian countries. The event resulted in a common regional agenda for the development of bio-salt solutions, the promotion of sustainable agriculture and the expansion of cooperation with ICBA to improve the climate resilience of Central Asia.
