Ambassador of Turkmenistan Held Meetings at Brest State University
20.06.2025 | 21:30 |Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Belarus Nazarguly Shagulyev visited Brest State University named after A.S. Pushkin, where he met with the university administration and students. The embassy prepared an information program for students dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust, as well as the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality.
Before the start of the celebration, the Ambassador discussed with rector of Brest State University, Associate Professor Yuri Golubev, the possibilities of expanding scientific and educational cooperation, training specialists, establishing scientific exchange and other points of contact. The diplomat and the head of the university also touched upon issues of the educational process, living and studying conditions for students, and the main formalities for foreign citizens.
The rector's office, the faculty of the university, responsible employees of the Embassy of Turkmenistan, as well as Turkmen and foreign students of BrSU took part in the ceremonial event.
Rector Golubev and Ambassador Shagulyev delivered welcoming remarks. The head of the Turkmen diplomatic mission emphasized that the fundamental basis of Turkmenistan's progress is its sovereign path of development. This course is expressed in the comprehensive modernization of all spheres of life of the state and society, including the socio-economic sector, science and education, as well as socio-political aspects. This comprehensive reform strategy serves as a reliable guarantee of sustainable growth and prosperity of the country, the ultimate goal of which invariably remains to improve the well-being and ensure a decent life for the people.
It was noted that in the foreign policy activities carried out under the leadership of the President of Turkmenistan, special importance is attached to the initiative to proclaim 2025 the International Year of Peace and Trust, as well as the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality. This historically significant and principled foreign policy course has established itself as an indisputable factor in ensuring stability, security and progressive sustainable development not only on a regional scale, but also in the context of global international relations.
During the event, videos were presented on the topic of Turkmenistan’s peacekeeping and neutral course.
Nazarguly Shagulyev also held a meaningful conversation with fellow citizens - students and graduates of the university, during which attention was paid to the issues of developing high moral qualities, patriotism, and ethical standards in young people. The Ambassador emphasized that these values form the basis for the harmonious development of the individual and are of key importance for the training of qualified specialists who can make a worthy contribution to the prosperity of Turkmenistan and strengthening its international authority.
