Turkmen karatekas secure 26 medals in Bishkek
25.06.2025 | 15:10 |The Turkmenistan WKF Karate national team achieved a notable performance at the 10th Central Asian Championship in Bishkek, securing a total of 26 medals, comprising 9 gold, 6 silver, and 11 bronze awards.
The tournament featured 609 karatekas from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, who competed in both kata and kumite disciplines across cadet, junior, and senior categories.
On the final day of the championship, Turkmen athletes added 8 medals to the team's tally, four of which were gold.
The gold medalists include:
• Mukhammetoraz Gulov (Kumite U12, -35 kg)
• Kirill Kolodin (Kumite U12, -45 kg)
• Kuvvat Akhalleyev (Kumite U12, +45 kg)
• Akhmet Ayazov (Kumite U14, -40 kg)
Arsen Khachiyan secured a silver medal in Kumite U12, -40 kg.
Bronze medals in Kumite were awarded to:
• Begli Bayramov (U12, -35 kg)
• Fyodor Kiselev (U12, -35 kg)
• Remezan Orazmammedov (U14, -40 kg)
The Turkmenistan national team, represented by 36 athletes, finished in fourth place in the overall medal standings. This is an excellent result, particularly given the substantial number of participants from other nations, and it underscores the high level of training among Turkmen karatekas.
