Day of Turkmenistan was Celebrated at the Children of the Commonwealth Forum in Belarus
15.07.2025 | 07:08 |On July 13, the Zubrenok educational and health center in Belarus turned into a colorful venue for celebrating Day of Turkmenistan as part of the 10th International Cultural and Educational Forum “Children of the Commonwealth”. This event became a real immersion into the rich culture and peace-loving policy of Turkmenistan for hundreds of young participants from the CIS countries.
The delegation of Turkmenistan, represented by active and talented schoolchildren from all regions of the country — winners of Olympiads and competitions — proudly revealed their national treasures.
The ceremonial part of the event was attended by Director of the Zubrenok center Tatyana Osmolovskaya, as well as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Belarus Nazarguly Shagulyev and employees of the Embassy.
In his speech, Ambassador Shagulyev spoke in detail about the national heritage and values of the Turkmen people. He particularly emphasized that 2025 has been declared the "International Year of Peace and Trust" in Turkmenistan, which is especially symbolic in the year of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality. This unique status serves as a solid foundation for strengthening stability and trust both in the region and around the world.
The Ambassador also focused on Turkmenistan's priorities in educating the younger generation. He noted that the country pays special attention to developing a spirit of friendship, mutual understanding and respect for cultural diversity among young people, expressing confidence that such initiatives will contribute to further rapprochement between peoples and the creation of a sustainable future for all Commonwealth countries.
The culmination of Day of Turkmenistan was an interactive performance. The delegation introduced their peers from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Armenia to the history of Turkmenistan, its ancient customs, the beauty of traditional handicrafts and legendary carpets.
The center was filled with colorful melodies and fiery dances, which instantly transported the young guests to the very heart of the East. The festive atmosphere was complemented by a specially prepared photo exhibition, as if opening a window into the centuries-old history, rich decorative and applied arts and picturesque natural landscapes of the country. Particular attention was drawn to photographs of unique modern architectural complexes of Ashgabat - symbols of the dynamic development of Turkmenistan, which was clearly demonstrated in a specially prepared video material.
The organizers of the large-scale children's forum, which united young talents of the Commonwealth, were the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS and the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus with the support of the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS countries.
Turkmenistan Day at the Children of the Commonwealth Forum became a vivid confirmation of the fact that the language of culture and art is capable of overcoming any borders, laying the foundation for friendship and mutual understanding between young generations of nations.
