Balkan velayat farmers harvest over 22,000 tons of potatoes
22.07.2025 | 11:12 |Farmers in the Balkan velayat have achieved significant success in cultivating spring potatoes, harvesting a total of 22,411 tons and successfully fulfilling their planned targets for the campaign. This information was reported by the "Turkmenistan" newspaper.
Potatoes, a staple food crop, were cultivated across an area of 1,600 hectares. Agricultural workers employed a combination of traditional farming methods and modern agrotechnologies, which facilitated the procurement of a bountiful and high-quality harvest. The efficient utilization of specialized agricultural machinery played a crucial role in the successful harvesting operations.
Notably, workers from the Gyzylarbat, Bereket, Magtymguly, Etrek, and Esenguly etraps distinguished themselves through their substantial contributions to the velayat's overall agricultural output.
Currently, farmers have commenced preparations for autumn planting, with plowing and other agrotechnical activities underway on the cleared fields.
