The 15th edition of the International Silk Way Rally ended with a grand celebration of sports and friendship. On Tuesday, July 22, a ceremonial finish was held in the center of Gorno-Altaisk, the capital of the Altai Republic. On Lenin Square, surrounded by thousands of enthusiastic spectators, the winners and prize-winners of the two-week marathon received their well-deserved awards. Thus, in the T2 class of serial SUVs, there were no equals to the brothers Merdan and Shokhrat Toylyev.

The Road to Victory: From Baikal to Altai

The rally marathon started on July 12 in Irkutsk, connecting the territories of Russia and Mongolia with a single route. In 11 days, the racers covered 4,811 kilometers, paving their way from the shores of Baikal through Buryatia to Mongolia, storming the sands of the Gobi and the majestic dunes of Mongol-Els, and then climbing the Altai Mountains. This route became a real test of endurance and skill.

Turkmen Podium in the T2 Class

In the T2 class, where Turkmen crews competed, the absolute winners and leaders were the brothers Merdan and Shokhrat Toylyev, who won their second victory at the Silk Way Rally. Their stable and confident performance throughout the marathon ensured their unconditional success.

This victory is a clear indication of the high level of training of Turkmen athletes and the development of motorsport in the country.

Festival of Sports and New Horizons

A total of 101 crews took part in the race, and the rally-marathon caravan included racers from 15 countries. The Silk Way International Rally once again demonstrated its importance as a platform for sporting achievements and strengthening international ties.

The 15th edition of the Silk Way project is over, but its story continues. The organizers promise that next year, an even more exciting and unpredictable adventure awaits participants, confirming that the rally is “more than a race and brighter than an adventure!”
