Apple re-enters the AI race with companion robot, smart displays, and cameras

Apple is preparing for a major return to the artificial intelligence market, focusing not only on software but also on new devices. The company plans to introduce an entire lineup of hardware products, ranging from a companion robot and smart displays to home security systems.

The main project will be a desktop robot with the codename J595. This device features a 7-inch display and a motorized "neck" that will allow it to follow a person, move the screen, and actively participate in conversations. The robot will utilize an updated version of Siri, based on large language models, capable of holding a conversation with multiple people simultaneously. Alongside the robot, Apple will release a simpler smart display, the J490, which lacks moving parts but includes voice control and home automation functions. Both gadgets will operate on the new "Charismatic" operating system, which will feature multimedia widgets and facial recognition capabilities.

In the security sector, Apple is developing smart cameras with infrared sensors that will not only record events but also automate household processes, such as turning off lights when a person leaves a room. There are also plans for a prototype "smart" doorbell capable of unlocking a door via facial recognition.

The release of these new products is intended to solidify Apple's position as an innovator and to directly compete with Amazon, Google, and Samsung in the smart home and personal robotics segments. This will also give Apple the opportunity to expand its ecosystem and enter new markets.
