Friendship Dialogues - a presentation about Turkmenistan was held for young Minsk residents at the School of Peace
10.09.2025 | 04:23 |As part of strengthening humanitarian and cultural cooperation between Turkmenistan and Belarus, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan Nazarguly Shagulyev visited Minsk Gymnasium No. 16. The choice of this educational institution, known as one of the leading ones in the country, emphasizes the desire of the diplomatic mission to dialogue with the most talented and active youth.
During a friendly conversation, director of the gymnasium Elena Kiseleva spoke about the history and achievements of the educational institution, noting that intercultural dialogue plays a key role in educating the new generation.
Gymnasium No. 16 in Minsk is known as the "School of Peace" due to its history and long-standing traditions associated with the international movement "Schools of Peace" (The Peace Schools Association), the goal of which is to form a peace-loving and humane personality, strengthen international cooperation and mutual understanding between peoples. The gymnasium actively participates in various international projects and programs aimed at promoting the ideas of peace, tolerance and friendship between children from different countries.
The highlight of the Ambassador's visit was a vivid presentation about Turkmenistan prepared by the Embassy staff. The students of the gymnasium were able to take a fascinating video journey through the ancient land, see its rich historical heritage and impressive achievements of the modern era. Of particular interest was the photo exhibition, which presented both ancient monuments and the majestic architectural ensembles of modern Ashgabat.
In his address to the students, Ambassador Shagulyev emphasized that familiarization with the culture and history of peoples fosters a spirit of mutual respect, understanding and trust, which is fully consistent with the policy of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan.
The event was dedicated to significant events for Turkmenistan: the 30th anniversary of permanent neutrality and the declaration of 2025 by the UN General Assembly as the International Year of Peace and Trust.
At the end of the meeting, books and souvenirs were donated to the school library, which will become a source of new knowledge about Turkmenistan for young readers. The principal of the gymnasium thanked the diplomatic mission for their valuable contribution to the educational process.
