In his article, the Ambassador explores the historical significance of Turkmenistan’s Permanent Neutrality, officially recognized by the UN General Assembly Resolution on December 12, 1995. This status has become the cornerstone of the country’s foreign policy, contributing to stability, good neighborly relations, and regional cooperation.

The author notes that Turkmenistan actively uses its neutral territory for political meetings and conferences that require a diplomatic approach — such as inter-Tajik and inter-Afghan negotiations held in Ashgabat.

The article emphasizes that the UN has reaffirmed Turkmenistan’s neutrality three times (in 1995, 2015, and 2025) and proclaimed December 12 as the International Day of Neutrality. This reflects broad international support for Turkmenistan’s peace-loving policy, guided by the motto “Dialogue is the guarantee of peace.”
