From January to April 2026, school students, university students, and athletes of Turkmenistan demonstrated outstanding results on the global stage. The country’s total achievements were enriched with hundreds of awards, reflecting extensive efforts to develop science, education, and sports. These successes were reported by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Batyr Mammedov at a government meeting on May 1.
During the reporting period, Turkmen students won a total of 807 medals at international subject Olympiads and competitions. Their high level of preparation was also confirmed at national platforms:
• Universities of the country successfully hosted six international Olympiads and seven scientific and practical conferences.
• The III International Mathematics Olympiad for school students brought together young talents from different countries.
• Scientific research was systematically coordinated in priority areas of future technologies.
Special attention is given to practical medicine and the well-being of the younger generation. During the period, advanced treatment methods were introduced, and with the support of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation, surgeries and rehabilitation programs were successfully carried out for children in need of care.
Turkmen athletes also demonstrated strong performance. At international competitions in various sports, national teams won 169 medals, representing the country on the world stage.
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that nurturing a generation with a broad outlook and innovation skills remains a state priority. The Head of the state charged with further improvement of work in these areas, creating all conditions for realizing the potential of youth.
