The film of the Turkmen director will be shown in the competition program of the Minsk Film Festival "Listapad"
12.11.2023 | 14:06 |The feature film "Daragt" by the Turkmen film director Sahysalyh Bayramov entered the competition program of the XXIX Minsk International Film Festival "Listapad", which will be held from November 17 to 24.
The official website of the event reports that a total of 2,087 applications were received from cinematographers from 107 countries. The geography is the widest: from Europe and Asia to America and Africa. The largest number of applications were sent from Iran, India, the Russian Federation, Brazil and China.
From the applications received, the experts selected the brightest films that will be shown during the film festival not only in Minsk cinemas, but also in the regions of the country.
Sakhysalyh Bayramov's film will be shown on November 22 at the Central Cinema in Minsk (the session starts at 13.30).
The film tells about the wartime events of 1941-1945 and the fate of the Turkmen woman Nazik, who accompanied her husband to war and waited for him to return home for many years, even after the end of the Great Patriotic War.
In addition, the director of the Turkmenfilm studio, Sahysalyh Bayramov, has been invited as an honorary guest to the 1st Bishkek International Film Festival, which will be held in the capital of Kyrgyzstan on November 17-21. As part of the festival, Bayramov will take part in a forum dedicated to the 95th anniversary of Chingiz Aitmatov, and in panel discussions of cinema figures, where future projects will be discussed. There will also be a workshop on co-production for cinematographers of Central Asia, which is organized jointly with the CNC - the National Center for Cinematography and Animation of France.
