Turkmen conductor Rasul Klychev will participate in a concert at the St. Petersburg Philharmonic
13.11.2023 | 03:34 |On November 21, the closing of the interstate program "St. Petersburg - the cultural capital of the CIS 2023" will take place. On this occasion, there will be a concert commemorating Soviet and Russian conductor, artistic director of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic named after Dmitry Shostakovich, People's Artist of the USSR Yuri Temirkanov. He passed away at the age of 85 on November 2 of this year…
The CIS Youth Symphony Orchestra - a true symbol of cultural cooperation of the CIS member states – will perform on the legendary stage of the Great Hall of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic under the direction of artistic director, People's Artist of Russia, winner of the Stars of the Commonwealth Award Sergei Skripka.
Also, conductors Rasul Klychev (Turkmenistan), Rakhat Osmonaliev (Kyrgyzstan) and Murtuza Bulbul (Azerbaijan) will stand at the panel of the collective during the evening.
Together with the orchestra, opera stars of tomorrow will perform this evening – participants of the Bolshoi Theater's youth program, also representing CIS member countries. The program includes arias and ensembles from famous operas.
The CIS Youth Symphony Orchestra was organized in November 2007 in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, to participate in a concert dedicated to the II Forum of Creative and Scientific Intelligentsia of the CIS member States. The geography of performances of the CIS Youth Symphony Orchestra is expanding annually – Azerbaijan and Armenia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan. In addition, the orchestra's concerts were held in the UN General Assembly Hall in New York and UNESCO Headquarters in Paris.
"The goal of the project would not have been fully realized if the activities of young musicians were limited only to rehearsals and concerts. It is impossible not to realize the uniqueness of the opportunity for young performers to communicate with famous conductors, but do not underestimate the huge and important work with individual groups of the orchestra (strings, winds, percussion), which is annually carried out by brilliant masters of orchestral performance from all CIS countries.
In addition, a diverse cultural program is being prepared for young people in all participating countries of the project, which contributes to strengthening of mutual understanding, friendship and fruitful communication of talented youth of the Commonwealth countries," the St. Petersburg Philharmonic website says.
