Oriented on making people closer

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Turkmenistan Ivan Volynkin, while on a working trip to the Lebap region, visited the Museum of the Great Patriotic War in Turkmenabat with his family.

Photos, weapons and awards told about the patriotism of the ancestors: the courage of the fighters and the diligence of the home front workers. The common history of friendly countries is not forgotten, and lives on in exhibits, replicas and photographs.

The museum also presents materials telling about the work of the hospital in the city of Charjev (Turkmenabat), about the great feats of the home fronters.

The Museum of the Great Patriotic War of the city of Turkmenabat was opened on May 7, 2005 in the house-museum of I. V. Panfilov. For more than 18 years, the museum has been receiving visitors with the sole purpose of perpetuating the bright memory of the feat of the Turkmen soldiers.
