Applications for the contest of illustrations for poetry of the East "Reflection" have been announced

The organizing committee of the VIII Moscow International Festival "Sounds of Dutar" named after Nury Halmamedov announced the start of accepting applications for the artistic competition of illustrations of poetry of the East "Reflection" from March 1. The competition is held under the auspices of the Russian Academy of Arts in honor of the anniversary of Magtymguly Pyragy, whose 300th anniversary was included in the UNESCO list of memorable dates.

It is impossible to imagine European philosophy, culture and art without interaction with the culture of the East. In Russian art, interest in Oriental aesthetics began in the 19th century, the most significant periods are considered to be the beginning of the 20th century and the heyday of Soviet culture. Today we see another wave of renewed interest. The problem of cognition of the East and the confrontation between East and West has acquired a special relevance at the present time, therefore it has found itself in the center of philosophical, cultural, artistic and aesthetic searches and solutions.
