 GeForce RTX 5050: Graphics card noticed in Acer laptop specifications

Acer has disclosed initial details regarding the mobile GeForce RTX 5050 graphics card, despite the fact that Nvidia has not yet officially announced this model. The new product has already been observed in the specifications of certain laptops from various manufacturers. Currently, precise information concerning the graphics processing unit (speculatively GB206 or GB207), the CUDA core count, and the video memory capacity is unavailable; however, earlier leaks mentioned 8 GB of GDDR7 memory.

Acer has published data on its website pertaining to the clock speeds of the RTX 5050 graphics processor and its Thermal Design Power (TGP) figures. The RTX 5050 will be available in laptops within the Nitro series, alongside the RTX 5070 Ti/RTX 5070 and RTX 5060, but is not yet anticipated in Acer Predator models.

The RTX 5050 will be offered in at least five TGP configurations:

  1. 50 W (up to 60 W) with a frequency of up to 1500 MHz (1600 MHz in Acer OC mode);
  2. 60 W (up to 75 W) with a frequency of up to 1905 MHz (1905 MHz in Acer OC mode);
  3. 70 W (up to 85 W) with a frequency of up to 2212 MHz (2313 MHz in Acer OC mode);
  4. 80 W (up to 95 W) with a frequency of up to 2212 MHz (2312 MHz in Acer OC mode);
  5. 100 W (up to 115 W) with a frequency of up to 2550 MHz (2650 MHz in Acer OC mode).

It is anticipated that the RTX 5050 will serve as a direct replacement for the RTX 4050, although Acer will continue to offer certain models featuring the lower-tier card from the previous generation. Official launch dates for the RTX 5050 have not yet been announced.
