Oriented on making people closer

Today at 9 a.m., Turkmenistan launched a nationwide blood donation campaign in observance of World Blood Donor Day. The campaign is being held under the slogan “Give Blood, Give Hope: Together We Save Lives” and is ongoing at medical institutions across the country.

The main event took place at the International Center of Surgery and Endocrinology under the Directorate of International Medical Centers in Ashgabat. Medical workers from clinics in the southern part of the capital are among the participants. Anyone willing to donate is welcome to take part in the campaign.

The initiative is organized by the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan in cooperation with the Center of Blood under the Directorate of Infectious Disease Centers. The center is responsible for donor recruitment, blood collection and screening, storage and distribution, as well as training of specialists in transfusion medicine.

Authorities emphasize the importance of regular and voluntary blood donation for saving lives and improving public health. The campaign is ongoing.
