vivo X Fold 5: the first Android Smartphone with Apple Watch and iPhone integration
13.06.2025 | 17:05 |The Chinese company vivo has announced the development of the world's first Android smartphone — the foldable flagship vivo X Fold 5 — with Apple Watch support. The device's official presentation is anticipated in July 2025.
According to vivo, Apple Watch devices will be capable of displaying notifications and incoming calls from the vivo X Fold 5, in addition to synchronizing health data with the vivo Health application. The technical mechanism for this connectivity remains undisclosed, given that Apple does not officially support the connection of its smartwatches to Android devices. It is presumed that an iPhone will be required to activate the Apple Watch, serving as an intermediary for data transmission.
Beyond its integration with the Apple Watch, the vivo X Fold 5 offers seamless synchronization of notifications, calls, and SMS messages with iPhones, even when utilizing a single SIM card. This functionality enables iPhone owners to answer calls and review messages directly from the vivo X Fold 5, thereby considerably simplifying the use of two devices.
Furthermore, the vivo X Fold 5 will be able to function as a secondary display for MacBooks and will feature a pre-installed iCloud application for synchronizing photos, videos, contacts, and passwords with iPhones.
