Heads of railway departments of Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Iran held talks
14.06.2025 | 23:35 |Within the framework of the 82nd meeting of the Council on Railway Transport of the Commonwealth Member States, trilateral talks were held between the heads of railway administrations of Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Iran.
The meeting discussed the development of the international multimodal transport corridor "Uzbekistan - Turkmenistan - Iran" in the direction of European countries in order to attract additional volumes of rail transportation and improve the efficiency of logistics.
Following the talks, the parties signed a corresponding Protocol, railway.uz reports.
In recent years, the countries of Central Asia have begun to more actively develop their logistics capabilities, since it is through their territory that alternative options for the delivery of goods between Asian countries, including China, and the EU countries pass.
