China–Central Asia Trade Hits Record High in January–May 2025
18.06.2025 | 09:50 |From January to May 2025, trade volume between China and the five Central Asian countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan) increased by 10.4% compared to the same period last year, reaching 286.42 billion yuan (approximately $39.91 billion), according to the General Administration of Customs of China.
Chinese exports to Central Asian countries during the reporting period amounted to 188.18 billion yuan, up 5.6% year-on-year. Imports from Central Asia to China rose by 21%, reaching 98.24 billion yuan.
Agricultural imports from Central Asia grew by 26.9%, totaling 4.36 billion yuan.
Trade conducted via road transportation in the first five months of this year reached 143.65 billion yuan, a 10.9% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
