Oriented on making people closer

On October 11, within the framework of the international exhibition and scientific conference held in Ashgabat, Minister of Education of Turkmenistan J. Gurbangeldiyev met with Tan Huis, Executive Director of the National Library of the State of Qatar. The Director of the Institute of Language, Literature, and National Manuscripts named after Magtymguly of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan also attended the meeting.

During the talks, the parties emphasized the existence of valuable historical, cultural, and literary monuments uniting the Turkmen and Qatari peoples. It was noted that both countries are carrying out significant work to preserve material and spiritual heritage and to develop the field of librarianship.

Special attention was given to valuable publications related to the Turkic world and the Turkmen nation, which are carefully preserved in the National Library of Qatar.

The Turkmen side expressed interest in providing access to these publications for higher educational institutions through modern digital technologies. The proposal for digitalization and data exchange received warm support from the Qatari delegation, which confirmed its readiness for close cooperation.

The parties noted that cooperation between Turkmenistan and the State of Qatar occupies a special place among the countries of the Arabian Peninsula. The participants confirmed their willingness to provide full support for the further development and strengthening of bilateral relations, particularly in the field of preserving and promoting cultural and historical heritage.
