TRT Avaz Presents New Films about Turkmenistan
14.10.2025 | 19:46 |The gala premiere of two documentaries from the Turkish television channel TRT Avaz at the Ashgabat Cinema on October 13 was dedicated to the 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence and 30th anniversary of neutrality. Viewers were presented the films "The Wise Turkmen Magtymguly" and "The City of the Future Arkadag," symbolically uniting the country's profound historical heritage with its aspirations for modernity.
The event emphasized the principle of "One Nation, Two States" and the important role of media in strengthening the spiritual unity of Turkey and Turkmenistan.
TRT Representative in Turkmenistan Ugur Sami Gezer emphasized that the gala program brought "bridges of brotherhood from the screen directly into the audience."
"In these films, we combined the vision of Arkadag with the wisdom of Magtymguly," Ugur Sami Gezer noted. "The wise Turkmen Magtymguly, with his pen, became the voice and conscience of the people. And the city of the future, Arkadag, is not just a modern city, but a project for life that combines the accumulated heritage of civilization with advanced technologies and places people at the center of its development."
TRT Avaz coordinator Yucel Kılıçkaya confirmed the channel's mission to be "the voice, breath, and bridge of friendship for the Turkic world." He emphasized that Magtymguly's words, "Tribes live as one family...," illuminate the path to unity and progressive development today.
The films about Magtymguly and the city of Arkadag are part of large-scale project of the TRT Avaz "Fatherland Turkmenistan" (Atavatan Türkmenistan). As part of this project, the channel has previously presented documentaries such as "Pearl City Ashgabat" (which won the award for best screenplay at the Oguzkhan Film Festival); films about historical and spiritual heritage—Ancient Merv, Kunyaurgench, Nedzhmeddin Kubra, and others.
