Record-breaking wind generator in Asia mounted in Thailand
09.08.2017 | 22:13 |Siemens Gamesa Corporation, a global provider of wind power solutions, has successfully completed installation of wind turbines in Thailand with a total height of 210 meters. To date, these windmills are the highest in Asia, says the company’s press release.
33 wind turbines, with axle height of 153 meters, and the length of the blade of 65 meters, have been mounted at 67.5 MW-Sarahnlom power plant in the central part of Thailand.
New generator will be commissioned by the end of this year.

The tall axis of the wind helps to climb the screw into the lower turbulence stratum, where the wind speed is more stable, while long blades increase air entrainment, thereby increasing the energy supplied to the generator.
The world's highest wind generator is located in Hausbay, Germany. Its total length with with the length of the blades reaches 229.5 meters.
