May has the potential to become the second warmest in recorded history
27.05.2025 | 10:00 |Over the next 3–4 days, the territory of Turkmenistan, including Ashgabat, will be under the influence of relatively cool air currents originating from the southeastern periphery of a large anticyclone, the center of which is situated over the Volga region.
Daytime temperatures in the capital are expected to remain within the vicinity of +30 degrees Celsius. This temporary decrease in temperature values will influence the final figures for the month: the average monthly temperature is forecast to be +26.8…+27 degrees Celsius. Consequently, May 2025 will most likely become the second warmest in the history of meteorological observations, slightly falling short of the record-breaking years of 1961, 2014, and 2021, when the average monthly temperature reached +27 degrees Celsius.
The return of genuinely hot weather is anticipated at the very end of the month.
