Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister Discusses Bilateral Relations with the President of Georgia
22.10.2025 | 11:15 |On October 21, as part of an official visit to Georgia, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a meeting with the President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili.
During the meeting, key issues of bilateral cooperation, the strengthening of political dialogue, as well as the development of economic and cultural ties between Turkmenistan and Georgia were discussed. Both sides emphasized that regular contacts at the highest and senior levels contribute to deepening strategic partnership.
The President of Georgia received warm greetings and best wishes from the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and from the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
It was noted that Turkmenistan and Georgia regularly support each other’s constructive international initiatives and act as co-authors of such initiatives within the framework of the United Nations. The President of Georgia emphasized that Turkmenistan’s neutrality policy makes an important contribution to ensuring universal peace and enjoys broad support from the international community.
On the same day, Rashid Meredov met with the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze. During the talks, the sides reviewed a wide range of issues concerning bilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and Georgia in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres. Successful cooperation in multilateral formats, primarily within the UN, was also highlighted.
The Prime Minister of Georgia noted the productive nature of his visits to Turkmenistan earlier this year and his meetings with President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, emphasizing their importance in strengthening bilateral cooperation.
