Head of Turkmenistan's Ministry of Textiles visits global leader in industry equipment in Belgium
29.05.2025 | 19:03 |A delegation representing Turkmenistan's textile industry undertook a working visit to Belgium, where they visited the city of Ypres. Situated therein is the headquarters of Picanol, a globally recognized leader in the field of textile machinery manufacturing.
The delegation, headed by the Minister of Textile Industry, Nurmuhammet Orazgeldiyev, met with Mr. Tony Decock, Sales Director for Weaving Machines at Picanol, who delivered a comprehensive presentation on the company's history and development.
Turkmen specialists were acquainted with the production process, modern technologies, and innovative solutions employed by Picanol in the development of textile equipment. Particular attention was paid to demonstration models and a tour of the production workshops, where the assembly and testing of machinery are carried out.
The successful 20-year history of collaboration between Picanol and textile enterprises in Turkmenistan was noted. Turkmen specialists expressed high regard for the quality, reliability, and efficiency of Picanol's equipment, which meets contemporary industry demands. The extensive operational experience of Picanol machinery at Turkmenistan's facilities has formed the basis for an interest in expanding the partnership.
The Turkmen side conveyed its readiness to procure additional weaving machines and to modernize existing equipment with the aim of strengthening the industry's production capacity and enhancing the competitiveness of Turkmen textile products in international markets.
Within the framework of the negotiations, matters concerning technical support, after-sales service, and personnel training were also discussed.
This visit is regarded as a significant step in reinforcing industrial partnership between Turkmenistan and leading European manufacturers and opens new prospects for the sustainable development of the country's textile industry.
