 Serdar Berdimuhamedov takes part in SCO events in Tianjin

Today, on August 31, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived at Tianjin Binhai International Airport, China. He will take part in the 2025 Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, which is taking place from August 31 to September 1.

Leaders from Asia, Europe and Africa gathered in the northern Chinese port city of Tianjin for the largest SCO summit in history, where the alliance’s development plan for the next decade will be outlined. Topical issues of further development of multifaceted cooperation within the SCO in priority areas and improvement of the organization’s activities will be discussed.

On Sunday, Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in informal events of the SCO summit at the Meijiang Convention Center in Tianjin.

The events were also attended by President of China Xi Jinping, President of Russia Vladimir Putin, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif, President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, heads of government of Egypt, Cambodia, Nepal, Armenia, as well as UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, CCTV reports.

The foreign leaders were treated to a colorful concert program dedicated to the Tianjin SCO summit. After participating in the SCO summit, President Berdimuhamedov will travel to Beijing on September 3 to participate in the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in World War II.
