Aid to Afghanistan, an Environmental Campaign, and Other Topics During Visit of the Head of the Khalk Maslakhaty to Arkadag
22.10.2025 | 00:15 |On October 21, National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, made a working visit to Arkadag, where he inspected construction projects, reviewed new projects, and held a meeting with relevant officials. The visit focused on environmental issues, the development of the second phase of infrastructure, and urban development standards.
The work program began with preparations for the upcoming nationwide greening campaign. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov approved a plan for the first mass planting of Turkmen juniper (archa) in the "smart city."
This choice was based on the fact that the seedlings grown by gardening entrepreneurs in the Akhal velayat are highly resilient and suitable for the region's soil and climate conditions. The National Leader emphasized the importance of systematically caring for the seedlings in accordance with agricultural practices.
During the inspection of construction sites, designs for the city's second phase of construction were presented, including buildings for the Road Police Supervision Service, the Vehicle Registration Service, and the museum's interior design.
After reviewing the documentation, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made adjustments, placing particular emphasis on quality and compliance with the highest standards during construction, including the medical cluster's production complex, which requires proper waste disposal.
At a working meeting with city leaders, the issue of adhering to the international color standard used in virtually all sectors, including industry, trade, architecture and design, construction, and road markings, was raised. This standard (RAL) ensures uniformity and durability, as it applies to coatings and paints resistant to weathering and ultraviolet radiation. The inclusion of this international standard in the development regulations underscores Arkadag's technological prowess and commitment to comply with the best global urban development practices.
During the meeting, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov reported that during his recent visit to Afghanistan to mark the launch of the next stage of construction of the Serhetabat-Herat gas pipeline, Afghan brothers left homeless by the earthquake appealed for assistance. The National Leader of the Turkmen People instructed the Chairman of the State Committee for Construction of the City of Arkadag under the President of Turkmenistan to prepare proposals on this matter and submit them to the head of state for consideration.
In accordance with the principles of humanism and the wise Turkmen proverb "Kyýamat güni goňşudan" (On the Day of Judgment you will see goodness from your neighbor), it is necessary to extend a hand of friendship to the Afghan people and provide them with assistance, the head of the Khalk Maslakhaty said. He emphasized that this would reflect the humanistic ideals of the Turkmen people.
