Korean Tech Giant Won Contract from Nvidia to Produce New AI Processors
23.10.2025 | 15:00 |Samsung Electronics is strengthening its position in the semiconductor industry after securing a contract from Nvidia to manufacture specialized chips (XPU). This agreement signals Samsung’s growing competitiveness with the market leader TSMC.
In recent years, Samsung has lagged behind TSMC in contract chip manufacturing, but the situation now appears to be shifting. Nvidia, one of the main drivers of the AI accelerator market, has chosen the Korean giant to design and produce its specialized processors and XPU (universal processing units).
Although this deal likely does not involve Nvidia’s flagship graphics processors, which remain with TSMC, it carries major strategic importance for Samsung.
Experts believe that production will use the company’s latest 2-nanometer GAA (Gate-All-Around) process technology — a crucial technological milestone:
• Samsung’s advantage: Currently, TSMC’s comparable 2nm process is not yet ready for mass production.
• Development success: Positive reports about the performance of Samsung’s upcoming Exynos 2600 system-on-chip (SoC) suggest the company has successfully mastered the new technology.
Securing such an advanced-level contract with Nvidia confirms that Samsung is successfully expanding its share in the high-profit semiconductor market.
