Tbilisi Silk Road Forum Presented Turkmenistan's Initiatives

On October 22, a delegation from Turkmenistan, led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov, participated in the 5th Tbilisi Silk Road Forum.

Held under the slogan "Invest in Connectivity - Develop in Stability," the international forum brought together over 2,000 participants from over 60 countries, including heads of government, heads of financial institutions, and business leaders. The forum is a leading platform for strategic discussions on trade, transport, energy, and digital connectivity.

Speaking at the plenary session, Foreign Minister Meredov presented a number of Turkmenistan's initiatives aimed at strengthening global stability and sustainable development:

-Turkmenistan views security as an indivisible concept and proposed developing a Global Security Strategy. This strategy should be based on three key pillars: trust between countries, preventive diplomacy, and the practical application of the principles of neutrality.

-Emphasizing the importance of strengthening global economic and transport connectivity, Turkmenistan called for joint efforts to create an international platform for the protection of the ecosystems of the Caspian and Black Seas. This proposal is aimed at strengthening regional environmental cooperation.

-Turkmenistan also advocates for strengthening the rule of international law and proposed declaring 2028 the Year of International Law.
