Turkmen "Merv" won a strong-willed victory over Tajik "Khujand" in the fight for entry into the group stage of the AFC Cup - the second most important club tournament in Asia.

The meeting, held in Khujand at the stadium "20th anniversary of Independence", ended with a score of 2:1 in favor of the Turkmen club.

In the 53rd minute, Murad Yagshiyev closed the transfer of Mukam Nazzyyev, opening the score in the match. Eleven minutes before the end of the match, the Khujand team regained its balance.

According to the rules of the tournament, if the main time of the match ends in a draw, two additional 15-minute halves will be assigned. 

In the 114th minute, 21-year-old Ovezmuradov put Merv ahead with a header.A minute later, the final whistle sounded.

Now "Merv" will have to prepare for the matches of the AFC Cup group stage of the tournament in the Central zone, where Turkmen "Altyn Asyr", Kyrgyz "Abdysh-Ata" and Tajik "Ravshan" are waiting for the team.
