 Barcelona academy is open in southern Kyrgyzstan

In Jalal-Abad, the grand opening of the first FC Barcelona Academy in Central Asia, the largest football infrastructure facility in the country, took place. The ceremony was attended by President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, President of FC Barcelona Joan Laporta, as well as several legendary ex-players of the Spanish club, such as Ronaldinho, Carles Puyol and Eric Abidal.

The FC Barcelona Academy is a project that is being implemented within the framework of cooperation between the Kyrgyz Football Union and the Spanish club. The goal of the project is to develop the football potential of Kyrgyzstan, train young talents according to the methodology of FC Barcelona and promote the spread of football culture in the region.

The academy covers an area of 5.2 hectares, on which there are two full-size natural turf football fields, one full-size artificial turf field under an air-supported dome and two mini-fields.

In addition, on the territory of the academy there is a school building, a sports hall and a four-story administrative building. The academy will train children from 6 to 18 years old, who will be selected based on the results of qualifying tests.

After the opening ceremony, a friendly match was held between the legends of FC Barcelona and children from different football teams from the southern regions of Kyrgyzstan.

In addition, today, on August 30, an exhibition match between the legends of the Spanish "Barcelona" and the legends of Central Asian football will take place.

Turkmen ex-football player Amandurdy Annadurdyev will also take part in this meeting.
