The Turkmen tennis player reached the semifinals of the Asian Championship
07.09.2023 | 14:26 |Turkmen tennis player Ilima Huseynova continues her successful performance at the Asian Junior Tennis Championship (U-14), which is being held in the capital of Cambodia - Phnom Penh. 24 best tennis players from Asia and Oceania gathered at a major international tournament.
In a hard-fought fight to reach the semifinals , Huseynova defeated the representative of India, Diya Ramesh , in three sets with a score 7:6, 1:6, 6:4. Earlier, she also defeated the second seed at the tournament Emily Kim from Uzbekistan and Suryanshi Shekhawat from India.
In the semifinals of the tournament, Huseynova will face the fourth-seeded Thai Tarita Hongsek, who is one of the favorites of the competition.
Ilima Huseynova is one of the leaders of the tennis movement in Turkmenistan. She is engaged in tennis at the Ashgabat Academy under the guidance of Mirali Hasanov. At the moment, she is ranked 13th in the Asian ITF Juniors ranking among juniors under 14 years old.
