 Turkmen Specialists Undergo Practical FAO Training on Brucellosis

Since October 22, Turkmenistan has been hosting a training workshop on the prevention, diagnosis, and control of brucellosis as part of the FAO regional project “Pandemic Preparedness and Response under the One Health Approach in Central Asia.”

The practical part of the training is taking place at the livestock complex of the Sahabatly economic society in the Gokdepe district of Ahal province.

The training is conducted by FAO international experts Svetlana Bardenstein and Nadav Galon, who have many years of experience in epidemiological surveillance, diagnostics, and prevention of infectious animal diseases.

On the Turkmen side, coordination is provided by national expert Arslan Soltanmyradov, Head of the Department of International and Scientific Relations of the State Veterinary Service under the Ministry of Agriculture of Turkmenistan.

Participants include specialists from the State Veterinary and Sanitary-Epidemiological Services, staff of veterinary laboratories, and representatives of the Horse Breeding Research Center in the city of Arkadag.

The training brings together representatives of various ministries and agencies involved in implementing the One Health approach, reflecting Turkmenistan’s commitment to an integrated interaction between humans, animals, and the environment.

FAO experts praised the high level of organization and the active participation of the specialists. Mr. Soltanmyradov expressed gratitude for their practical assistance in training national specialists in line with international veterinary standards.

The event contributes to strengthening professional capacity, enhancing international cooperation, and advancing Turkmenistan’s state policy in the field of animal health protection and biological safety.
