The Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Held a Meeting to Prepare for the 30th Anniversary of Neutrality

On October 24, National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, held a working meeting of the State Organizing Committee in Ashgabat to prepare events for the 30th anniversary of the country's permanent neutrality and the International Year of Peace and Trust. The meeting, held at the Monument to Neutrality and attended by members of the Government, coincided with the 80th anniversary of the founding of the UN, giving it special symbolic significance.

The working meeting, chaired by the Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty, focused on a comprehensive plan for modernizing the capital, directly related to the upcoming international celebrations.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov inspected projects of facilities under construction and modernization, emphasizing the need to use innovative technologies and consider local natural features when landscaping and planting trees.

Previously, the head of the Khalk Maslakhaty issued instructions regarding the reconstruction of the Monument of Neutrality and the adjacent park: the design and decoration must reflect the country's legal status, three times recognized by UN resolutions, and include the symbols and colors of the UN flag. Similar requirements were put forward for the design of the roundabout at the intersection of Bitarap Turkmenistan and Chandybil Avenues.

Special attention was given to the Museum of Neutrality, which should feature prominently the history of the country's neutral status and relevant UN documents.

Continuing with the topic of Ashgabat's improvement, the head of the Khalk Maslakhaty expressed dissatisfaction with the capital's mayor, Rakhym Gandymov, regarding the poor organization and untimely completion of the work to transform Ashgabat into a blooming garden. Strict recommendations were issued to expedite the work, ensure cleanliness and order, and take a comprehensive approach to the city's environmental situation.

Particular emphasis was placed on protocol preparations. Since the heads of state and government of UN member states are expected to attend the celebrations marking the 30th anniversary of neutrality, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed that the highest quality services be provided and that the reception of guests be organized in accordance with the best national traditions of the Turkmen people.

At the end of the meeting, recommendations were made on the preparation of programs for international events, the organized implementation of the nationwide autumn tree-planting campaign (Turkmen juniper), and the active participation of city residents in the greening campaign.
