Turkmenistan Culture Days in Uzbekistan Became a Celebration of Good-Neighborliness and Shared Heritage

From October 21 to 24, Uzbekistan immersed itself in the atmosphere of Turkmen art and traditions, hosting the Turkmenistan Culture Days. The event, a vibrant symbol of the spiritual and historical commonality of the two fraternal peoples, took place at two key venues – Khorezm and Tashkent.

The ceremonial opening took place in the Khorezm region, where a musical performance and a creative meeting of cultural figures from both countries took place. During a warm dialogue, attended by First Deputy Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan Bakhodir Akhmedov and Deputy Minister of Culture of Turkmenistan Nursakhet Shirimov, the participants discussed not only cultural achievements but also common goals: strengthening friendship, expanding the exchange of experiences, and developing good-neighborly relations.

On October 22, the Dashoguz Regional Musical and Drama Theater named after Nurmuhammat Andalib performed the play "Fire of Recognition" at the Khorezm Regional Theater in Urgench, attracting a full house of theatergoers and representatives from both countries. This production, based on profound traditional stories, showcased the mastery of the Turkmen performing arts.

After Khorezm, the baton was picked up by Tashkent, where the Dashoguz theater company performed on the stage of the State Drama Theater of Uzbekistan. On October 24, the Uzbek capital also hosted a professional dialogue – a creative meeting between artists and museum staff from both countries. Experts discussed the preservation of their great shared heritage, cooperation in museum affairs, and the promotion of contemporary art.

The closing ceremony of the Days of Culture took place on Friday evening at the Uzbekistan Palace of International Forums in Tashkent. The final joint concert by artists from both countries provided a beautiful finale to the celebration. Audiences witnessed a dynamic synthesis of ancient Turkmen traditions and contemporary performing arts and felt the true spirit of good-neighborliness.
