ORIENT has compiled a list of the best new films and TV series in various genres, the online premieres of which took place this week.

Echoes of the Past (premiere – January 13)

This is the first western film starring the famous Hollywood actor Nicolas Cage. In the story, he plays a former bandit and, together with his 12-year-old daughter, is forced to meet with the vengeful leader of his old gang.

The Sick (premiere – January 13)

Horror fans will be able to watch a new movie from the author of the slasher "Scream" Kevin Williamson. The plot tells about two girls who, during the coronavirus pandemic, decided to quarantine in a country house by the lake. Gradually, they discover that there is a sinister force nearby.

Velma (premiere – January 12)

The animated comedy is a spin-off of Scooby-Doo and tells the story of Velma Dinkley. In the story, she, along with Daphne, Shaggy and Fred, investigates a school case. The main character is voiced by Mindy Kaling, who produced the series. Two episodes have been released so far.

Taxi: Treasure Mountain (premiere – January 9)

A comedy film in which the taxi driver Leon and a mysterious traveling companion go to the Rock of Gibraltar, where, according to the passenger, there is a cave full of gold. The picture will appeal to those who are nostalgic for the series of films "Taxi" by Luc Besson.

Stream (premiere - January 9)

A comedy series about the problems of a teenager named Zhora, who does not find friends, and at home he always meets quarreling parents. To show the injustice of others, he puts on a helmet with a built-in camera and conducts a round-the-clock stream. Thanks to this, the teenager gains self-confidence, and others begin to change, because the camera shows all their shortcomings.

Tokyo Revengers: Christmas Battle (premiere - January 8)

The long-awaited continuation of the first season of the Tokyo Avengers anime series for fans of the genre, which will tell about the Hakka Shiba family and reveal new details from Manjiro Sano's childhood. To date, the first series has been released. It is expected that the series will be released on Sundays.
