Cultivation of Leguminous Crops Expanding in Dashoguz Velayat
09.07.2025 | 10:00 |Dashoguz Velayat continues to expand the area dedicated to the cultivation of leguminous crops—mung beans and noiba (white beans). In 2025, mung beans are planned to be sown on 7,300 hectares, while noiba will cover 410 hectares.
Akdepe Etrap remains the largest producer, with an expected harvest of over 2,500 tons of mung beans and 180 tons of noiba. In Kunyaurgench Etrap, mung beans will occupy about 1,500 hectares, and noiba will be sown on 65 hectares. Other major producers include agricultural enterprises in the etrap named after S. Turkmenbashi and in Boldumsaz Etrap.
The cultivation of leguminous crops promotes efficient use of land and water resources due to their short maturation period, which makes them suitable for use as interim crops. Additionally, these crops are resistant to transportation and have a long shelf life.
Farmers in Dashoguz Velayat have extensive experience in growing leguminous crops under local climatic conditions, ensuring stable yields and the fulfillment of production plans.
